Teenagers are exposed to the peer pressure of attaining perfectionism like; getting straight A’s in all subjects, forced to choose money-making careers, and jobs at high profile industries in the future. These high expectations collectively overwhelm their delicate brains and eventually drown them in severe depression.

Although, it is normal for a teen to feel anxious and worried, treating every worry as a huge problem can cause more damage. To find a certain balance in coping with every change, one must precisely analyze the situation and act accordingly. If the worries entangle with your day-to-day life then it is an alarming situation.

To help you deeply learn and deal with all kinds of changes, I am going to enlist them in an elaborated manner.

Coping with Stress: The first issue which falls under the personal life category, mostly encountered by teens that is often quite hard to deal with is stress management. It occurs mostly because we have become procrastinators. We postpone our tasks until we are loaded with piles of work. To eradicate it from our unhealthy habits, we must complete assigned tasks before or on time.

Body Image: The second social issue encountered by teenagers is the unrealistic body image. Growing up with a love for food and surviving among judgmental people can be an unbalanced situation to deal with. These people have a habit of imposing impractical beauty standards. They often throw negative comments to belittle you. Also, having social media as a huge part of our lives where beauty standards are quite hard to match. This causes a lack of confidence, self-doubt, and incompatibility among all. This can be minimized by realizing the fact that nobody is perfect. Comparison with others will always make you ungrateful and unhappy. Love yourself and live for yourself.

Family Conflicts or Family Breakdown: In the heat of the moment, we often make mistakes that damage us and our beloved relations. With the increasing ratio of divorces, parents fail to understand that their differences and constant fights often deteriorate a child mental health. Moreover, in our society, mocking, comparing, and flexing their children’s achievements with other’s kids is a favorite thing to do. This eventually destroys their inner peace and evokes negative emotions. These issues can be resolved by understanding that our actions might hurt others and damage their personality.

In addition to this, based on pharmacy claims of those who filled at least one prescription for mental health medication in 2019, nearly twice as many teenage girls take antidepressants compared to teenage boys. Percentage of teenagers in the United States taking antidepressants from 2015 to 2019, by gender. Instead of taking antidepressants, youngsters should seek proper therapy and help from the experts or elders.

In a nutshell, teenagers being inexperienced face difficulties in dealing with new situations. They are often inclined toward wrong decisions which result in damage beyond control. However, running away from problems will haunt you more. One must learn to face, accept, and deal with problems to lead a peaceful life.
